You are invited to attend Oregons first: Clean Water for Salmon Workshop! This half-day educational forum includes presentations about the contamination of our surface waters with pesticides, the risks that these contaminants pose to threatened and endangered salmon, and the National Marine Fisheries Services perspective on the issue. The workshop will also highlight urban areas in Oregon that are making comprehensive efforts to address the impacts of urban pesticide use on salmon survival. When: The workshop will be held from 1pm 4:30pm on Saturday, October 20th, 2001, Where: (map and directions will be supplied to workshop attendees) The workshop is free but space is limited to no more than 60 attendees to facilitate quality discussion and ensure the educational goals of the workshop. Take advantage of some culture with your education The Clean Water for Salmon Workshop is being held in conjunction with the Northwest Coalition For Alternatives to Pesticides 24th anniversary. To celebrate the anniversary, there will be an amazing theatre event on the evenings of October 19th and the 20th. A Sense of Wonder is the inspirational play about the life of the great writer, scientist and environmentalist - Rachel Carson. Internationally acclaimed actress Kaiulani Lee brings to life the story of Carson's love for the natural world and her fight to defend it. The play is brought to you by Churchill High School's Rachel Carson Center and the Northwest Coalition for Alternatives to Pesticides.
