NCAP needs your help protecting health and the environment and advancing alternatives to pesticides. Volunteers are needed to help with a variety of tasks in the
office. Internships

Membership Assistant, Contact: sconnor@pesticide.org
NCAP is seeking to fill the role of membership assistant. This is an unpaid internship. This position will work with the development director and campaigns associate to recruit more supporters to our organization.
Specifically, this position will work on two projects with our business league membership. First, the membership assistant will conduct outreach to current and potential businesses in our five state region (MT, OR, WA, ID, CA) to identify businesses willing to help us collect names on our Pesticide-free Pledge Statement of Support. Once identified, the assistant will then work with the business to get them the materials they need and assist in the name collection.
The second project will be focused on identifying mail order businesses with similar missions to help us collect names of potential supporters through a postcard campaign. The assistant will contact potential business partners and then design and print the postcards for their use.
Both projects are focused on building our base of supporters and potential donors.

Pesticide-free Garden
Program Assistant, Contact: sconnor@pesticide.org
NCAP is seeking to fill the role of pesticide-free garden program assistant. This is an unpaid internship. This position will work with the campaigns associate to develop a pesticide-free garden/home kit based on information and fact sheets developed by NCAP.
Specifically, this position will research other similar outreach efforts and then develop a "how-to" guide for NCAP to use in outreach and education efforts. The kit may include items such as alternative solutions to common pest/weed problems, homemade solutions for common pest issues, how to throw a pesticide-free garden/house party, etc.
NCAP plans to use this kit to help recruit new supporters and provide education in a fun and meaningful way.

Pesticide-free Kids

NCAP is seeking to fill the role of pesticide-free kids program assistant. This is an unpaid internship. This position will work with the environmental health associate and campaigns associate to develop a pesticide-free kids workbook/kit based on information and fact sheets developed by NCAP.
Specifically, this position will research other similar outreach efforts and then develop a "how-to" guide for NCAP to use in outreach and education efforts. The kit may include items such as bug identification games, how to garden naturally and other kid centered activities and information.
NCAP plans to use this kit to help recruit new supporters and provide education in a fun and meaningful way.

Community Hero Project Intern, Contact: sconnor@pesticide.org
NCAP is seeking to fill the role of community hero project intern. This is an unpaid internship. This position will work with the development director and campaigns associate to develop and implement our first community hero award project.
Specifically, this position will develop the award program to share stories of everyday folks who are doing inspiring work to reduce pesticide use in their communities. Development of this award program includes, nominating criteria, creating nomination questions, spreading the word to collect nominations, putting together a committee to select award recipients, developing all marketing for the project and more as assigned.
This is a new project and this position will help us plan to make it an annual or bi-annual award program.

Development and Special Event Assistant, Contact: sconnor@pesticide.org
NCAP is seeking to fill the role of development and special events assistant. This is an unpaid internship. This position will work with the development director to conduct membership outreach and recruitment as well as develop and implement special events throughout the internship.
This position will work on our annual fundraising event and special major donor/member gatherings - assisting with inkind donations, marketing of events, event logistics, and other duties as assigned. In addition, the position will help with membership recruitment and outreach at tables and events - assisting with developing table and event materials, attending tabling and outreach events, develop online events and advertise through our website and social media sites, and other duties as assigned.
