Video Production Assistant, Contact:  sconnor@pesticide.org

NCAP is seeking a Video Production Assistant. This is an unpaid internship that may be completed for academic course credits. The Video Production Assistant will work with NCAP program staff to create online videos highlighting community efforts to protect salmon and rivers from harm caused by pesticides. Specifically, the Video Production Assistant will help NCAP to identify and interview at least eight people, including but not limited to farmers, fishers, members of First Nations communities, and scientists, who are working to protect salmon from pesticides. Through this project, NCAP will publish the stories of these leaders in a series of short online videos that will be shared with media, decision makers, and the general public. The Video Production Assistant will be responsible for collecting video content, as well as editing existing content to produce short (2-3 minute) stories designed to empower others to take action. This internship begins immediately and carries through mid-September, 2014, with an option to continue work beyond the scope of this project. NCAP will provide a video camera (Canon XA10) as well as access to editing tools (Final Cut Pro X). This position is located in NCAP's Eugene, OR office.

Qualifications:
• Experience using a video camera and video editing software
• Excellent communication skills and and ability to connect with people you will interview
• Organizational skills and ability to contact and schedule video interviews
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• A desire to work with an environmental nonprofit
• A sense of humor and a sense for storytelling
• Experience in environmental studies, salmon conservation, or related field is a plus.

Membership Assistant, Contact:  sconnor@pesticide.org

NCAP is seeking to fill the role of membership assistant.  This is an unpaid internship.  This position will work with the associate director and campaigns associate to recruit more supporters to our organization.

Specifically, this position will work on with our business league membership in our five state region (MT, OR, WA, ID, CA) to identify businesses willing to help us collect names on our Pesticide-free Pledge Statement of Support. Once identified, the assistant will then work with the business to get them the materials they need and assist in the name collection.

This position will also organize tabling and outreach events for the organization including Home and Garden Shows in Eugene, Portland, Idaho and other tabling events that align with our mission. In addition, the intern will work on recruitment emails and mailings to targeted in-house lists.

Development and Special Event Assistant, Contact:  sconnor@pesticide.org

NCAP is seeking to fill the role of development and special events assistant.  This is an unpaid internship.  This position will work with the development director to conduct membership outreach and recruitment as well as develop and implement special events throughout the internship. 

This position will work on our annual fundraising event and special major donor/member gatherings - assisting with inkind donations, marketing of events, event logistics, and other duties as assigned.  In addition, the position will help with membership recruitment and outreach at tables and events - assisting with developing table and event materials, attending tabling and outreach events, develop online events and advertise through our website and social media sites, and other duties as assigned.

NCAP is seeking to fill the role of social media intern. This is an unpaid internship.  This position will work with the campaigns associate and associate director to maintain our social media sites and increase community engagement through these venues.  Social media sites this position will maintain include Facebook, Twitter, NCAP’s blog, and others.  

Specifically, this person will research and post on our Facebook account several times a week, increasing traffic, likes and comments; research and post tweets on our Twitter account, increasing followers and making new connections with like minded supporters; research and write blog posts at least twice a week to keep our blog fresh and up to date and cross post our postings to other blogs through comments, guests columnists and more; and other social media duties as assigned.

NCAP is seeking to fill the role of Information Services Coordinator.  This is an unpaid internship.  This position will work with the campaigns associate and associate director to provide resources and information as requested through our info hotline and other online requests.  

Specifically, this person will review messages on the hotline and receive requests from our website, conduct research and then develop responses with links to resources and information as requested.  This position is critical for assisting folks who are in need of solutions when pesticides have been applied or before they have been applied.

Website Coordinator, contact jvincent@pesticide.org

NCAP is seeking to fill the role of web assistant. This is an unpaid internship. This position will work with the campaigns associate and associate director to successfully transition our website to a Wordpress platform, assist with site maintenance, and helping the office with general technology as needed.

Specifically, this internship will focus on content migration from the current NCAP website, including re-creating existing pages in Wordpress and transferring media files from one site to another.
