TEXT OF LETTER TO EPA ADMINISTRATOR CAROL BROWNER

June 16, 1999

Carol Browner, Administrator

US Environmental Protection Agency

401 M Street, S.W. Washington, DC 20460

Dear Ms. Browner:

In January 1998, the Northwest Coalition for Alternatives to Pesticides and 180 supporting organizations submitted a rulemaking petition to the Environmental Protection Agency asking that all pesticide ingredients be identified on the label of pesticide products.

Since that time, 80 additional organizations have asked to be included as supporting organizations. Attached is a list of their names and addresses. We believe that these organizations from 42 states demonstrate the strength of the support for public disclosure of the identity of "inert" ingredients in pesticide products.

We look forward to your prompt response to the issues raised in our petition.

Sincerely,

Norma Grier

Executive Director
