As a result of the hard work of NCAP and our allies, the City of Portland recently announced the establishment of a new Pesticide Free Parks Program. Three neighborhood parks have been designated pesticide-free.

Why Are Pesticide Free Neighborhood Parks Good for Portland?

Pesticide use in urban areas result in serious unintentional impacts to our community. Due to storm drains, runoff and drift, harmful levels of pesticides end up in our rivers and streams. Additional hazards are posed to children, wildlife, and pets from urban pesticide use. This is why communities across North America are developing pesticide free parks and neighborhoods.
