Exposure to Pesticides Shows a Link to ADHD

A study published in May in the journal Pediatrics points to a link between exposure to Organophosphate Pesticides and increased risk for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder in children.

"Our findings support the hypothesis that current levels of organophosphate pesticide exposure might contribute to the childhood burden of ADHD" the study concludes.

The National Academy of Sciences points to diet as the major source of pesticide exposure for infants and children.  Other studies have shown that pesticide levels in children decreases when they are fed a diet of organic food.
