Tree Maintenance Volunteer Day

Volunteers Needed! Weed Removal & Tree Mulching

Come Volunteer!
Saturday, June 5, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Eugene, OR

Come have fun and help your community! Friends of Trees needs our help doing weed removal, mulching and other work to care for trees that have been planted. Volunteers will be cutting back blackberry, digging out blackberry, pulling weeds/grasses, and mulching. We will also pound some stakes around tree plantings to prevent city staff from mowing over the trees. All volunteers will be entered into a drawing for a pesticide-free tote bag and t-shirt!

We will be working in the Whiteaker neighborhood of Eugene, near the Owen Rose Garden. Exact location will be emailed to registered volunteers in advance.

Volunteers should wear long pants (to ankles, not mid-calf), closed toed shoes or boots, and masks. Bring a water bottle and gloves if you have them, though some gloves will be provided if needed. Tools are provided.

This volunteer event will follow COVID-19 safety guidelines, we will be outdoors, and there is a maximum of 25 participants.
