Resilience, Unity & Keeping Focused on the Work Ahead

Policy advocacy has always been a part of our work and we will continue to keep up the pressure so that the negative impacts of pesticides aren't forgotten by the highest offices of this country.

The task at hand today is the same as it was in 2016; Keeping Focused on the Work Ahead.

We cannot lose hope or allow feelings of fear to consume and further divide. There is power in collective action and unity, and there is dignity in showing up for the issues that affect the prosperity of the community. In this time, we must especially protect those among us who are disadvantaged by systematic poverty and racism and who are disproportionately impacted by the toxic effects of pesticides.

The rollbacks to child safety standards and spray drift buffers will not be permitted again. The families of rural children battling cancer we work with, as well as the farmworker men and women testing high for highly toxic substances, and so many others deserve justice. We all deserve to be free from the threats posed by pesticide toxicity in our homes, food and communities.

Whether you seek to protect your family, support businesses that align with your values, or join us in the policy arena to advocate for needed changes, we know the ripples of these actions big and small will swell and wash away all doubts that alternatives to toxic pesticides are possible and necessary.

Our communities are resilient and while the road ahead will continue to be challenging, we will be working towards a future where every person has the right to health and happiness. If you are not already a part of the pesticide-free movement and want to know more, please visit pesticide.org for more information.
