Join City Fruit and NCAP to discuss the 2015 apple pest season! We want to hear from you and learn about what worked in your yard to prevent codling moth and apple maggot. Lessons learned from the session will be collected into a factsheet and used during the 2016 pest season.
The session starts with NCAP's Healthy People & Communities Program Director Megan Dunn, who will share resources and information on maintaining the your home and yard without pesticides. City Fruit will then present the methods they used in 2015 during the Save Seattle's Apples campaign. We'll open the session up to questions, comments, and thoughts about what worked best in 2015 to prevent pests from destroying apples in Seattle.
Bring photos documenting your pest prevention techniques as well as any "before" and "after" photos of your tree! Also bring notes, including when you placed barriers on your tree, removed them, and percent of damage to the fruit. There will be prizes for Most Improved Apple Trees.
This event is free!
